Sweet Laurel is a whole foods baking company, meaning, no filler, no weird stuff. Just the best organic, whole ingredients going into delicious grain-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free baked goods. This is indulgent, healthful food with a body positive perspective. It’s about loving the food you eat instead of punishing yourself for craving it. All of their treats are paleo, and some are vegan and raw too. Most of the items are made with less than five ingredients, and none of them are the wacky gums and stabilizers that you often find in most gluten free and paleo products. They only put the fewest, best ingredients in their baked goods. Obsessed with their baking blog too, they make the instructions so easy to follow that you feel like you are a master pastry chef.
Laurel Gallucci grew up in the kitchen: baking for her family was her favorite thing. After being diagnosed with an aggressive autoimmune disorder, she started experimenting in the kitchen with different ingredients that were good for her body. She blew her friends and family away with her new recipes that created delicious grain-free and refined sugar-free goods. One of her friends who tried one of her baked goods was Claire Thomas, cook, writer and photographer behind The Kitchy Kitchen. After tasting one of Laurel’s cakes, Claire asked if she could partner with her to form the Sweet Laurel brand. Sweet Laurel Bakery is now a business that was founded in friendship and a mutual love for old fashioned cooking. Both Laurel and Claire believe that the best food is the simplest and made with the best ingredients.
Luxe Tip: Laurel teaches private classes and public workshops regularly, with class structures around basic techniques and the fundamentals of grain free baking.
