Chef Jason Quinn had a dream. Create a space where a collaborative team of passionate foodies have room to use a kitchen as their own personal playground of cuisine. And so Playground in DTSA (Downtown Santa Ana) was born.
So what kind of restaurant would that be? One with 15 craft beers on tap, interesting combinations of flavors, an open kitchen, and a giant, 27-foot bar. A restaurant where chefs who use the ingredients of their upbringing with flawless technique tell you how your food is best prepared, not the other way around, and where the clientele is open-minded and willing to experiment with food they aren’t necessarily accustomed to.
It would also be a restaurant with an attached counterpart for true foodies only: Playground 2.0, where depending on the night you show up for a dinner with no menu, just an absolute trust that the chefs of the evening will prepare a feast for your senses and the wine will flow perfectly paired with each dish. For the ultimate experience in cuisine, try their 2.0 Trust Dinner Party where you dine at the bar, chatting with Jason and his varied and talented chefs while you dine on dishes that might range from Imperial wagyu skirt steak to Hokkaido scallops tiradito or a yogurt marinated “Tandoori” salmon.
Don’t miss out and make sure to make reservations well in advance!

Luxe Tip: If you make an impression on the staff when you dine, you might receive a black envelope slipped to you discreetly with your check, an invitation to get on the “Invite Only” dinner list. This list is for super special, invitation only dinners for the best of the best clientele. Their advice? “Don’t ask to be invited.”
