Napa is such a great weekend getaway spot, and very easy to access from Southern California. With incredible wineries, gourmet restaurants, stunning views, and luxury hotels, it is no wonder why Napa is so popular! When visiting Napa, I highly recommend checking into The Carneros Inn. The hotel is set on a hillside with gorgeous views of the Napa Valley. The accommodations are all individual cottages, most with a large outdoor patio with a bathtub, shower, and a firepit. You can even have a s’mores kit delivered to your cottage! The hotel has great restaurants, a gorgeous spa, and a beautiful pool. They also have complimentary bikes for hotel guests. The concierge can put together a really nice picnic with a great bottle of wine, so you can ride bikes and then enjoy a private picnic together! The owners of The Carneros Inn own 3 great wineries in the area, where you can enjoy complimentary wine tasting.
No visit to Napa is complete without a little wine tasting! There are a few standout wineries where you can have a really special experience. At The Terraces in Rutherford you can tour the ghost winery and vineyards in an ATV, and then taste their wines on the patio of the farmhouse. Caldwell is another incredible winery that does a small number of private tastings in their 20,000 square foot wine cave, paired with a small selection of locally sourced artisan cheese and charcuterie, and great stories about the founder of the winery. Then for lunch, head over to Chateau Lane Winery, owned by an excellent chef. They do great wine and food pairings and the views are gorgeous!
In addition to fabulous wineries, Napa is a top culinary destination. Angele is a charming French bistro, which features an outdoor patio overlooking the Napa River. La Toque has a contemporary French menu and one of the best wine pairing programs in the Valley. Bouchon in Yountville is a great spot if you are looking for bistro cuisine and a fun, lively ambiance. When staying at The Carneros Inn, you don’t even need to leave the hotel to have an incredible meal. Their FARM restaurant features seasonal cuisine in a beautiful open air setting. Or order in room dining and enjoy dinner on your private patio with a bottle of the best wine you tasted that day.
Luxe Tip: Want to do something different? Try horseback riding through the hills. Or for a different view of the Napa Valley go on an early morning hot air balloon ride! Book a Harvest Cottage at The Carneros Inn with an outdoor bathtub. Then you can reserve a couples massage on the patio of your cottage. After your massages, your masseuses can draw a bath in your outdoor tub for you to enjoy after your massage, and your butler can deliver a bottle of champagne! Talk about romance! If you book your stay with Ever After Honeymoons you will receive a $100 credit towards your spa treatments.
