Pilates is more than just an hour class that you attend a couple days a week. It is a workout experience guided by fluid movements that will change your everyday life and body as a whole. We slouch, sit in long car rides, tense our shoulders, have stress, and the list goes on of the everyday things we drag our bodies through. Villa Pilates classes are performed on resistance equipment and will transform your body to look naturally in shape. Think stability and long lean muscles without adding bulk. No matter what the sequence or technique is being taught that day, there is a deep foucs on the core strength and abdominal muscles.
Villa Pilates provides a relaxing environment, a studio of reformer machines set on bamboo floors, open beam ceilings and non-toxic paint. Carly Farmer, owner of Villa began this company at the young age of 23 and has set Villa apart from any other Pilate’s studio around. As soon as you step into the studio you will feel welcome, inspired and loved.
Luxe Tip: Group classes can be intimidating especially when everyone else looks like a team of synchronized swimmers moving in unison on the reformer machines. My suggestion is to start off with private lessons, with an instructor like Cassie, who can engage your “weak spots” and help you every step of the way. She will demonstrate some awkward and challenging looking moves while correcting your alignment and posture. I am not going to lie; she makes it look super easy. But don’t worry, she’s there to catch you, stretch you, remind you to stick it out and overall, make you feel great while having fun! She really believes that working out is fun, and will help you believe the same thing!
