Manhattan Beach is one of those towns that have everything within its city lines. It’s a city that many SoCal residents dream to reside in because of its sorbet color sunsets seen from the downtown Pier to the ease of shopping at a massive Target and all the amazing eateries within the district called “The Strand.” Amidst the boutique eateries is Love & Salt, an Italian-inspired restaurant with a California soul. Their philosophy is that food needs only two ingredients to be great. It is a vision; woven together from industry veterans and father & daughter team Guy & Sylvie Gabriele and Chef Michael Fiorelli.
For those like to order small bites, you have to try their house made English muffins with rosemary, sea salt, and cultured butter. A side of wood oven roasted meatballs with a plate of cured meats and cheeses is sure to start good conversation. Hardest choice as a diner, is to pick just 1 of their 6 wood oven pizzas. Can’t ever pick between the pepperoni pie with burrata with wild arugula and the duck egg pizza with pancetta, mozzarella and parmesan. If you haven’t had the Creste Di Gallo- slow braised lamb ragu with house made pasta, skip the snacks, it’s worth it. Love & Salt is your neighborhood haunt, your special occasion, your stop on the way home from work, your birthday celebration with friends and family. Love & Salt is everybody, everyday.
Luxe Tip: They have a flexible corkage fee. You can bring up to two 750mL bottles max per party at $25 per bottle or one magnum bottle at $50 as long as the wine is not on the wine list.
