I recently visited Buenos Aires, Argentina and absolutely fell in love with this city! It’s oftentimes called the “Paris of South America” because of the architecture and European heritage, and it was easy to see why. This city is full of incredibly chic, well dressed Argentinians and reminded me of Paris immediately! Buenos Aires is very sophisticated with beautiful architecture.
Buenos Aires is an incredibly walkable city, so you can easily explore the different neighborhoods by foot. If you are there on a Sunday make sure to visit the San Telmo market for a big flea market and antique shops. Anyone that loves to shop will be in heaven in this city! Head to Recoleta for luxury high fashion shops. For trendy boutiques go to Palermo Soho. This neighborhood is so nice to walk around with plenty of cute shops and cafes with seats spilling onto the streets.
You can’t go to Buenos Aires and not dine at an Argentinian Steak restaurant! My picks are La Cabrera and Don Julio. And after dinner go to a hidden speakeasy bar like Nicky Harrison or Victoria Brown. And for lunch I highly recommend El Sanjuanino for the most amazing empanadas!
Luxe Tip: Head to the Alvear Palace Hotel for Sunday Brunch. This hotel in the Recoleta neighborhood is a popular brunch spot for well dressed tourists and locals alike. This certainly isn’t your standard eggs and bacon breakfast, they have the most fabulous spread of gourmet treats, with some champagne to top it off. This is certainly a special experience!
Hotel: Check into the Faena, the chicest hotel in the city. With a great pool, sexy décor, and the best tango show, Faena is my favorite place to stay in Buenos Aires. Book your stay with Ever After Honeymoons and you get to experience their Rojo Tango show complimentary!
