What do these 3 women have in common? Beauty, Friendship, Fashion, Fitness, and being a Business Owner. Luxe List Member Michelle Kim also shares many of these commonalities and frequently uses her skills in shooting models and working in the fashion industry to strengthen her artistic side of photographing weddings. She believes that we [women] are better together. It is easy to become isolated in your craft or industry. When you find a core group of likeminded women to encourage each other to accomplish goals, that’s when you actually start checking items off the list. Raissa, Vera & Jenny, owners of Bar Method Marina Del Rey, are successful because they have done it as a team. They live in a hustle bustle world of LA, but they find the time to support and challenge each other.
Five years after taking her first class, Raissa still believes the Bar Method is the best workout ever. Classes only get harder and harder and the benefits get better and better. When she’s not kicking butts or getting her butt kicked at the Bar Method, she runs her clothing company called Lovers + Friends. Raissa feels blessed to be doing what she loves in and outside of the studio, surrounded by people she can’t live without in the city she adores the most.
Vera, who never owned a gym membership, and or ever worked out consistently, was extremely excited about this discovery through her friend Raissa. “I started to became more toned. I noticed muscle definition in places I didn’t even know I had muscles!” Vera is still amazed at how challenging the workout is to this day and credits the Bar Method workout as her outlet to relieve the stresses of every day life.
As an instructor, Jenny knows that Bar Method has changed her life for the better in every way. Not only was she seeing immediate changes in her own body and dropping jean sizes (all women want this) but “watching students make positive changes and nurturing a healthy, active, happy life-style is a dream come true.” She is constantly blown away by the determination her students have to be a better version of themselves and credits teaching as an amazing and rewarding experience that she can’t live without.
In the short time that Michelle photographed these ladies, they laughed, exchanged stories and posed for pictures…it felt like a typical girls’ day on Abbot Kinney. “It’s so refreshing to meet other women who get things done and do it with such style.”
Luxe Tip: Working out and staying motivated not only comes from within but helps when you have a work out buddy who keeps you accountable. There are many time slots for all group classes at Bar Method so there is no excuse not to take a class before or after work. Think long lean dancer muscles!
